Makeup Masterclass at Castlefield Clinic
Recently the STYLE etc. team were invited to brush up on our beauty skills in a Makeup Masterclass at Castlefield Clinic, Manchester. Lead by Hannah Porter, the clinic's own Skincare Specialist and Therapist, we were introduced to the wonders of Jane Iredale Mineral Make-up...
P.S The make-up brushes are amazing yet really affordable too!
Jane Iredale is the president and founder of Iredale Mineral Cosmetics. She was the first to supply the aesthetics industry with a full-line of makeup based on minerals and the first to see the potential of offering physicians a makeup that was good for the skin. She has worked with world-renowned plastic surgeons and dermatologists in the development of her line and lectures all over the world on its benefits.
Before she formed her cosmetics company in 1994, Jane Iredale's background had been in film, theatre and television. Her experience in working with women whose careers depended on a clear complexion has allowed her to see how skin disorders and sensitivities not only threaten careers but can also destroy self-confidence. This is what led her to develop a makeup line that could contribute to the lives of women by aiding the health of the skin.
In the clinic, ourselves and eagerly awaiting guests took our seats, preparing for a taster of the Jane Iredale range in action via an expert demonstration from Hannah. Working her magic on her willing model - her lovely mum! - Hannah gave her a radiant, glowing look which still looked natural rather than overly made up. The make-up looked lightweight, giving even coverage whilst creating a flawless but natural looking complexion - a tricky combination that can be hard to find in typical make-up brands! Hannah demonstrated how the range can be easily transformed from day to night with it being ideal to slowly build up a more dramatic "evening" look.
The make-up range is also pretty extensive covering everything from a lash conditioner to a lip balm which doubles as a lip exfoliator, as well as accommodating for a wide range of skin tones! The demonstration spoke volumes with the excited ladies clamouring to sign up to one and one consultations with Hannah to sample the makeover experience for themselves! Castlefield Clinic only offers group bookings - ideal to book for a day out with the girls!

'ONE, NINETEEN' - A Play to Remember...
What's on this week at Studio Salford...
'ONE, NINETEEN'
Presented by Team Mono.
On 19th January: Freak storms bring devasting floods to the West Coast of England, but before the rescue effort arrives, the media are already in town spinning their story. A play about the power of the news, the strength of the government, the question of climate change, and of course, the search for Sam, Jack and little Chloe...
Written by Archers’ writer Tim Stimpson, One Nineteen enjoyed a successful premiere at London’s Arcola Theatre, with rave reviews, including 4 stars from Time Out magazine.
Team Mono are pleased to be bringing this increasingly relevant piece of work back to the stage with new direction and exciting multimedia. Teammono Theatre Productions are dedicated to bringing high quality writing to the stage, using both in-house writers and associate writers. Mike Friend said: “I am looking to produce and develop not only my own writing, but help deliver writing that is too good to be left on a shelf or a pc somewhere. Good writing and great actors deserve to be on a stage for the world to see.”
"A fast and pacey satire which hits the bullseye every time" - Hackney Gazette
"The various narrative strands are neatly overlapped to create an all too plausible picture. … It entertains while also leaving you much to think about." - The Stage
"Four Stars" - Time Out
DIRECTOR: Mike Friend. Technical Production by Jack Woodcock.
WHEN: Wed 2nd Mar - Sat 5th Mar. Starts: 8.00pm Ends: TBC
Tickets: £7 / £5 with tickets available from: http://www.ibookedit.com/iBookedITApp/whatsOnPerformanceU.action?productionRef=133
